User Defined Fields (KeyFields)

This window is automatically loaded when you open the Customers window.

A KeyField is used to hold customer information that cannot be easily entered into the main Customer Record and they can be used in letter templates. For instance a 'SALUTE' KeyField can be used to hold a personalised form of address in a letter.
It is not possible to search on a KeyField.

Selecting Add from the Edit menu or Clicking the New Icon in the Toolbar displays the Assign Key Field Dialog which allows you to add an existing KeyField to this record or define and use a new one.

Note that if the related Customer Record is deleted then all KeyFields for that Customer are deleted as well.


Field Name

This box lists all the KeyFields assigned to the customer. Click the KeyField you required and the box to the right will display its contents.
NOTE: If the KeyField name is in lower case then it has been marked for deletion.

Contents

The contents of the KeyField highlighted in the box to the left. You can edit this as you wish.
