Report / Canvassing Criteria

Being able to select customers that match specific criteria is fundamental in canvassing them for sales calls. This window allows you to set those criteria and the resulting list of customers can be used for both canvassing and printing.

If criteria have been previously set in this session then they are displayed for you.

1stBase also allows you to save criteria and recall them for later use.

Records selected match all the criteria you specify. Unused criteria are ignored by the selection process.


Dates: From/To

Enter the required filter date ranges. Note that selection includes the start/end dates entered.

Dates: Empty

1stBase considers empty dates to be invalid. Therefore they will not fall within a specified date range. If you wish to include empty dates in the date range then check the appropriate box.
Alternatively checking 'Empty' without specifying a date range will include only those records where the date is empty.

Dates: Excl

Excludes records that fall in the date range specified.

Postcodes

Enter the Post Codes required (separated by commas) either in the form B90 2DJ, B90 2FJ...etc.
For specific selection or in the form B90*,B91*... for wildcard selection.
TIP:To find post codes that begin with a single digit (e.g. B1 4AA, B1 2AA...) add a space between the B1 and the * (i.e. B1 *)

Groupings

Double Click the Groupings you wish to filter on in order to set the filter. No Filter, Include and Exclude Filters are available. If you select Include or Exclude then individual items in the grouing become available for selection.
In our example the Areas grouping is included and records selected must be in Birmingham or Manchester.

Catagory Selects the Customer categories to include. Options are:-
Any
Customer
Pre-Sales
Supplier
Deleted Records

You can filter the records by whether they are flagged for deletion or not:-
No Filter - No filter is applied.
Include - Only selects deleted records.
Exclude - Selects records that are not deleted.

Display/Print Order

Allows you to select the order in which the records will be sorted when displayed or printed.

Clear

Resets all the entries - no criteria are specified (i.e. all records are selected).

Load

Allows you to load a previously save selection.
Tip: You can also delete existing criteria from the Load dialog.

Save As

Allows you to save the criteria and give it a name.

Save

Allows you to save modified criteria, assuming that you have a previously saved selection criteria already loaded.

Ok

Accepts the criteria and closes the window.

Cancel

Aborts selection. The criteria previously set are still in effect.
